Finishing Touch Apprenticeship

July 20, 2017

Company Cards took part in an apprenticeship scheme in 2016. This scheme was based within their print finishing division – Finishing Touch. Patrick joined the team here at Company Cards as temporary staff for 3 summers prior to being offered his apprenticeship, which started in June 2016.

Our apprenticeship was built around training the individual to work in our finishing department, with training provided on various pieces of equipment and learning the processes of each service we provide. This role has been progressive, initially starting out shadowing members of staff as they followed out their daily tasks in the first week, to being allocated a specific job to complete as the months went on. Eventually our apprentice would gain knowledge in our digital print and finishing from the ordering process right through to the end product.

The aim for this apprenticeship was to encourage, nurture and develop the individual. So they would become self-sufficient and able to carry out any task that was required of them within their department.

Last week our staff marked the end of Patrick’s apprenticeship with a celebratory lunch.

Patrick has been a dedicated and fun person to work with and we’re all pleased to see him complete his apprenticeship successfully.

Based in our print finishing division he has undertaken extensive training with our equipment and worked with the team on a multitude of projects. He has managed to learn quickly and has contributed to the completion of all orders. He most certainly has become a valued member of the team. Well done Patrick!
